Times Higher Education Released the newest 2018 Asia-Pacific University Rankings on June 27, listing a total of 286 universities in 13 countries, among which are 31 Taiwanese universities. This is the second consecutive year that MCU has been ranked, illustrating our educational performance has received international recognition, showing up at 251+ in the ranking.
Following the New Southbound Policy, MCU established an Educational Cultural Center in Thailand on March 15, 2018. MCU not only planned to expand recruiting of Thai students, but also signed sister school agreements with University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Bangkok University and Thai-Chinese International School Samutprakarn during July and August 2018.
2018-19 AY 1st semester begins on Sep. 10, and online course selection (add and drop of courses) is available in different periods depending on students’ class year beginning on that same day at 12:30pm. The result of cloud course selection will be posted at 10 am of the online course selection day. Students who would like to choose courses from other departments, online courses (Accounting and Economics) or retake courses, please grab this chance to add or drop courses through the Student Information System.
Southeast Asia students who study in MCU’s undergraduate programs (not International College) and have achieved over 80 for conduct grade and over 80 for academic grade average in the 2nd semester of 2017-18 are eligible to apply for a scholarship. Please submit applications online through Student Information System before September 21, 2018. Final exams are going to be held from January 15 to 19, 2018. Each student’s final examination schedule has been posted under Exam Schedule and Location Query on the Student Information System. The Exam Schedule and Location for time-conflict and cross-campus situations will be announced four days in advance under Exam Schedule and Location Query on the Student Information System as well. Please make sure to bring your stationery items and student ID for the examinations. Students who are more than 15 minutes late for examinations are not allowed to take the examination. Students who cheat during examinations will be punished with a 2nd Level Expulsion. Please do not lose something big over a small action; don’t test the rules. If you forget to bring your ID, please go to the authorized document machine to register for a temporary ID card. So, it is recommended that students get an early start.
According to the 2017-18 university registration rates announced by the Ministry of Education on December 27, 2017, MCU was ranked Top 4 among private universities (excluding vocational and technology institutes and religious institutes) with 93.13% registration rate (including Doctoral, Masters’ and Bachelors’ Programs), proving that MCU’s educational philosophy of “Attending to all students with parental care, support, and guidance” continues toward teaching excellence and is favored by many.
